The Role

BBG Academy seek an inspiring and ambitious SENDCO to join our vibrant academy. This is a new role, joining our committed and established SEND team. We are passionate about providing every pupil with the opportunities to achieve their very best and we are looking for a colleague who shares this passion.

Working closely with our current SENDCO, you will:

  • Lead inclusion and the SEND provision in the academy, under the direction of the Principal and in accordance with the aims and objectives of Resilience Multi Academy Trust
  • Raise standards of student engagement, attainment and achievement.
  • Effectively evaluate the academy’s SEND provision and strategically plan for its future development in-line with the Trust’s vision.
  • Manage the support team within the SEND provision and promote a person-centred, inclusive practice in which the interests and needs of pupils with SEND and/or disabilities are at the heart of all actions.

We have a reputation for high expectations for all, excellent staff/student relationships and a commitment to the personal and professional development of its staff. The Trust is recognised as one of the top performing Trusts in the country and is committed to providing private school opportunities in a modern comprehensive environment. We believe that traditional values of discipline and respect are sacrosanct. We do not tolerate bullying, defiance or rudeness to staff and this has made for a harmonious and safe learning environment for our young people, and a supportive environment for staff. We are a happy and well run organisation and this is an extremely exciting time to join us. Also, as a growing Multi-Academy Trust, there are always opportunities for career development and progression for ambitious and committed colleagues.

We want our staff to develop their pedagogy in a way that fits their own skills and expertise to benefit their students, but which is rooted in what we know impacts learning. We do not have a prescribed format for lessons but use a range of proven strategies to accelerate progress. Teachers make their own judgments about how to engage their students and how to deliver and embed content, while following the department curriculum.

The successful candidate will enjoy access to high quality CPD. You will also be joining a happy Trust where 95% of colleagues agreed that they enjoy working here and 92% would recommend us to a friend or colleague (taken from 2022 staff wellbeing survey).

Please note, the Academy will be closed for the Easter break from Friday 4 April until Tuesday 22 April inclusive.
